Neptune Developments Limited is working in partnership with Wolverhampton City Council and other stakeholders to develop a new transport hub for the city.
The scheme is being developed in phases and this website will be updated as each new phase commences.
The first phase of the development, Phase I incorporates a new bus station for Wolverhampton which opened to the public in July 2011. Built on the site of the existing bus station, the new development has been complemented by the addition of retail units, offices, and a restaurant.
A new footbridge over the Ring Road has also been constructed to maintain the historic link between the bus station and the train station.
Future plans for the redevelopment of the city's train station are under discussion and Neptune Developments are currently re-working their plans with the bidders for the West Coast Mainline franchise and National Railways to determine future operational requirements for the railway station.
The four bidders on the shortlist are present operators Virgin Trains, Abellio InterCity West Coast Limited (NV Nederlandse Spoorwegen), First West Coast Limited (FirstGroup plc) and Keolis / SNCF West Coast Limited (Keolis SA and SNCF).
One of these bidders will become the new operator of Wolverhampton railway station when the Department of Transport announces their decision in August 2012.
